Another knife from my own collection that I'm making
available is this collectible Osborne design Benchmade 950-1401 Rift. Their standard
version 950 Rift was crafted with 154CM blade steel. This exclusive version
uses CPM-S30V steel for its design. The reverse Tanto blade is extremely stout
and features a full-belly blade built for real world tasks. Blade action is
smooth, and lock-up is solid, with its AXIS
lock system.
While the standard 950 Rift uses Black/Grey G-10 handle scales, this custom model features a striking Black/Orange G10 pattern. The G-10 is textured for a fantastic grip, which not only brings out the two color look, but is much more comfortable in your hand to use. The edges of the handle are also chamfered, which makes them even kinder to your hands and pockets.
Benchmade built two versions, one in satin finish, and one with their BK1 black finish. The model I chose when I purchased mine was of the satin finish which I prefer. As with many of my collectible knives, this was relegated to Safe Queen status immediately upon purchase and its factory edge was never used to cut anything, never sharpened or stropped.
